Staring at my phone for the 7th hour, and tapping icons and buttons and still feeling totally clueless. I tried watching YouTube videos but it was so much information, my brain was on overload.
I felt like this was it. I had finally reached that "old age" where I was becoming clueless and hopeless. Destined to carry out the rest of my life slowly losing touch with what was cool.
Then I decided I wasn't going out like that! TikTok would not bring me down!
I set out to figure it out. I played around with it for hours and started taking notes. I started taking it a little more seriously and started watching the trends, and users behavior. And played, I researched and I trained. I treated it like Mission Impossible.
I became obsessed with it. I set out to make a viral tik-tok and brainstormed ideas, wrote out possible scenarios until I had the perfect recipe.
I tested my theory, and on day one, with 84 views, I thought it flopped. On day two it climbed to 204. Hardly viral. I thought the show was over. But then on day three, it shot up to 10K views! I was back in the game! Yippeee! Over the next few days it climbed to 190,000+ views, 5500+ likes, 100+ comments and 1,400+ new followers! Whaaaa....?!
But I'm too old...
First of all, says who? I'm pretty sure that's a massive excuse (it's the truth) and a way for you to stay in your comfort zone. No one is too old, ever. I know 70 years olds jumping out of planes, and 60 year olds in bikini competitions. Too old for TikTok? Yeah, no.
